Sigulda knitting pattern: beanie pattern in one or more colors
Size: Head circumference 50–51 cm (52–53 cm, 54–55 cm, 56 cm)
Gauge: 19 sts = 10 cm
Needles: 4.5 mm circular needles with a 40 cm cable for the beanie and 3.5 mm circular needles with a 40 cm cable for the beanie's ribbing
Yarn: For a monochrome beanie, two (2) skeins of Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino (50 g/125 m). If you are knitting with a contrasting color, for sizes 50–51 cm and 52–53 cm you will need one skein of main color and one skein of contrasting color. For larger sizes, you will need two skeins of main color and one skein of contrasting color.
Other supplies: stitch marker, tapestry needle, pompom maker

The Sigulda beanie is named after a Latvian town located within a national park, which is especially beautiful in autumn when the deciduous forests on the hillsides are covered in russet hues. The beanie's pattern resembles Sigulda's varied terrain, from which the name originates. For a children's beanie, you can knit a folded brim that provides better wind protection. The contrasting color of the brim is a nice and beautiful detail, and leftover yarn can also be used for it. The beanie's pattern is easy to knit and does not include any purl stitches.
