Collection: Sock yarns
Are you looking for the best sock yarns for your knitting projects? We offer a good and carefully selected range of durable and soft yarns suitable for socks in various materials and colors. Whether you are planning traditional wool socks, stunning colorwork socks, or thinner textured socks, you will find exactly the right yarn for your needs here.
How to choose a good sock yarn?
Sock yarn is a yarn specifically designed for wool socks, that can withstand wear and washing.
When choosing sock yarn, you should pay attention to its composition, thickness, and twist. Good sock yarn contains a reinforcement (often polyamide), which increases durability – without reinforcement, sock yarn will not withstand use. The thickness of the yarn, on the other hand, should be chosen according to how you intend to use the socks. If you want to knit thicker, warm boot socks, choose a thicker yarn than you would for thin summer lace socks.
The yarn's twist also affects its durability. Tightly twisted yarn is more durable than loosely twisted yarn.
