PetiteKnit Stockholm Sweater is a classic and timeless sweater, knitted from the top down in stockinette stitch with double-stranded lace-weight silk mohair yarn. First, the upper back is knitted flat, after which stitches are picked up from the cast-on edge for the shoulders. The shoulders are knitted separately and shaped with short rows. The front and back are joined at the armholes, and the lower body is knitted in the round. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up from the armholes, and the sleeves are knitted in the round with double-pointed needles or circular needles using the magic loop method. Finally, stitches are picked up for the neckline ribbing. The ribbing is folded and sewn to the inside. No other finishing is needed.
First, knit a swatch and block it wet to determine the correct needle size.
Instructions for choosing a size
The PetiteKnit Stockholm Sweater has approximately 15 cm of positive ease, meaning its circumference should be 15 cm larger than your bust circumference. Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL are designed to fit a bust circumference of 80–85 (85–90) 90–95 (95–100) 100–110 (110–120) 120–130 (130–140) 140–150 cm. The finished garment measurements are stated on the front page of the pattern. Measure yourself before starting to ensure you choose the correct size. For example: if your bust circumference (or the widest part of your upper body) is 90 cm, choose size S. The bust circumference of a size S sweater is 105 cm, meaning there would be 15 cm of positive ease in this case.
