The PetiteKnit Moby Sweater is knitted top-down with a textured and cable stitch pattern. First, the upper back is knitted, and the shoulder line is shaped with short rows. Then, stitches are picked up along the shoulders and joined to form the front yoke. The front and back pieces are joined to form the body, which is knitted in the round without decreases or increases. The sleeves are knitted in the round using double-pointed needles or circular needles with the magic loop method. Finally, stitches are picked up from the neckline for the ribbing. The ribbing is folded double to the wrong side and secured by knitting.

First, knit a swatch to determine the correct needle size for your gauge – this may also depend on your yarn choice. Wet the swatch before measuring, as washing affects the textured stitch pattern.

Guide to choosing your size

The sweater has approximately 15–20 cm of positive ease, meaning its circumference should be about 15–20 cm larger than your bust circumference. Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL are designed to fit a bust circumference of 80–85 (85–90) 90–95 (95–100) 100–110 (110–120) 120–130 (130–140) 140–150 cm. The finished garment measurements are stated on the first page of the pattern. Measure yourself before starting the project to choose the correct size. Example: if your bust circumference (or the widest part of your upper body) is 90 cm, choose size S. The bust circumference of the size S sweater is 106 cm, meaning in this case, you would have 16 cm of positive ease.
