Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair is a wonderful combination of the finest mohair (70%) and silk (30%), which makes it very soft and comfortable on the skin. Yarn is high quality and cruelty-free. The silk fibers are collected from cocoons after the chrysalises have matured into moths and escaped. This means that the silk worms are not harmed in the process, unlike conventional silk production methods. The mohair comes from goats in South Africa treated according to existing animal welfare rights. All Knitting for Olive yarns are traceable meaning that they know exactly what farms their yarns come from.
The quality of the Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair yarn can be seen, for example, in the way that it does not break when knitting and, according to the feedback received from our customers, itches (of course, itching is individual, so the most sensitive can itch – worth a try). The knitted surface becomes soft, smooth and fluffy, but not “shaggy”.
Soft Silk Mohair can be knitted on its own or combined with Knitting for Olive Merino or Heavy Merino, for example.
