Raunioiset tube scarf, knitting pattern in Finnish
The Raunioiset tube scarf is inspired by a species of fern that grows on a rock, called Tummaraunioinen. The tube scarf is knitted completely seamless using fine knitting techniques.
Size: One size (adult)
Dimensions of the finished sweater without stretching and soaking: circumference of the top edge 58 cm, height of the scarf from the neck 24 cm, height of the scarf from the front 53 cm
Knitting density: 20 sts x 44 rows = 10 x 10 cm of garter stitch on 3.5 mm needles before tightening
Yarn: Sport-strength wool or merino wool yarn.
Outlet:
135g or 480 m of Finnish sheep's wool yarn (for example Piessan Indy 360 m/100g)
A few meters of coarse wire for a temporary start
The tube scarf is started with a temporary beginning, then knitted in plain and finally connected to a tube by knitting. The connection point remains invisible. Along the edge, an I-cord edge knitted at the same time runs along with the work. The pattern of the scarf is knitted in garter stitch, with raised stitches, long stitches and braids.
