Cranberry socks (knitting instructions in Finnish)
Cranberry socks (knitting instructions in Finnish)
A sock design inspired by the cranberries that grow in northern Finland, where the cranberries ripen red with green leaves, with the brown colors of the marsh in the background. Or the last berries pinched by the frost in late autumn resting on the mossy ground with already brown leaves. A coarse, Finnish wool sock yarn was chosen as the yarn, which fits this atmosphere very well.
Size: 37-39 (40-41)

The Cranberry pattern of the socks' stems is knitted as embroidery, the leaves as twisted braid and the berries as buds. The stems of the toes are crocheted using the Vertical Plaid knitting technique before knitting the heel. The socks have a Dutch heel and a radius narrowing at the tip.
